This classic Nova has been restored to virtually perfection. The Nova has power steering, power disc/drum brakes w/dual master cylinder and a new fuel tank. The HD front coil spring suspension is paired with HD rear leaf springs and staggered shocks. Torque is delivered by a 3-speed TH400 automatic transmission to a GM 12-bolt positraction differential with 4.10:1 gears.

Stock cast iron manifolds exit to a high-quality Flowmaster exhaust system.

The 'Rat' is equipped with cast iron heads, Edelbrock aluminum intake, Edelbrock carburetor, Mallory Unilite distributor, a serpentine belt system and alloy valve covers. According to the owner, the 'CE' code motor was purchased from a Chevy dealer in the early '70s to replace the factory motor - the casting number on the engine supports this insight. The Nova is powered by a GM 396ci motor that is not numbers matching but is period correct.
#1970 NOVA SS FULL#
Other features include Vintage A/C, console, full factor SS instrumentation w/tach, tinted windows and a premium Kenwood AM/FM/CD changer (10-disc) sound system. The interior was restored with black vinyl bucket seats up front and bench seat in the rear. All chrome is excellent, and the Nova sits handsomely on a set of 14” GM rally wheels that mount BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The flawless exterior was professionally resprayed original Tuxedo Black and is in outstanding condition - a perfect color choice for this SS coupe. No expense was spared on the Nova's restoration - look at the photos. The original motor has been replaced with some performance enhancements (see below), but little else is changed.
#1970 NOVA SS MANUAL#
The current owner (47 years) knows the entire history of the Nova and has provided a notebook of documentation, an Owner's Manual and a partial Factory Build Sheet which show codes that identify the Nova as a true factory SS396. This Nova was the recipient of a total restoration in 2016 and is an impressive, legitimate example of the 'ZL-code' SS396 muscle car. The SS option consisted of an upgraded power train, power front disc brakes, 12-Bolt differential and heavy-duty springs. This third generation 1970 Nova SS396 2-door post is a stunner. The ChevyII/Nova was produced over five generations from 1962 until 1988.
